What is Chondroitin?
Chondroitin sulfate is a naturally occurring building block of healthy joint tissue. It is a major component of cartilage, the tough connective tissue that cushions our joints, and is important for its normal growth and maintenance. Chondroitin sulfate helps to enhance synovial fluid viscosity, which serves to lubricate joints and brings nutrients into cartilage to keep our joints healthy and mobile. It may also maintain joint structure by inhibiting enzymes that damage cartilage.
Chondroitin is often seen in combination with glucosamine, another important component of healthy joint tissue and together may assist in the management of osteoarthritis, a condition characterized by joint pain and inflammation.
Why does my body need Chondroitin?
Our joints are critical to keeping us active and mobile throughout life but they tend to be subjected to wear and tear. Chondroitin sulfate assists in the maintenance of healthy joints and may improve joint function by increasing mobility and flexibility so you can continue to lead a full and active life. Chondroitin may also assist in the management of osteoarthritis, a condition suffered by many Australians, by reducing joint swelling and providing temporary relief of osteoarthritic pain.
Where can I find Chondroitin?
Always read the label. Follow the directions for use. If symptoms persist, talk to your health professional.
