Health benefits of hops

Hops extract is derived from the flowers of the humulus lupulus plant. Although it’s most famous for being used to brew beer, hops is also a valuable herbal remedy that offers a number of health benefits including:
- Provides calming effects – Hops has been used traditionally* for its sedative action to help calm the nerves. This medicinal use is believed to be inspired by the observation of sleepiness in European hops‐pickers.1
