Alongside hair trends, shoe styles and current manicure fashions, many people look to the stars to find out more about health tips and advice. Gwyneth Paltrow is one such celebrity who regularly makes the news with her health trends and ideas. The star, known most recently for her roles in Iron Man, has released two healthy-living cookbooks and has just as large a fan base for her acting as for her role as a women’s health advocate and diet and exercise guru. The starlet even produces a website, Goop, for fans to follow her every move.
Paltrow’s second book, All Good, focuses recipes around her elimination diet – a regime she credits for bringing her back from an unhealthy phase – which means there can be no dairy, eggs, sugar, corn, wheat, gluten, potatoes, tomatoes, red meat, shell or deep water fish. While it sounds as though this diet could leave your pantry completely empty, many have subscribed to its benefits and found plenty of recipes to get around the restrictions.
Fellow A-lister Madonna is also known for her position as a health role model. Madonna regularly impresses millions with her incredibly toned muscles on the red carpet, which she puts down to a commitment to exercise and a healthy diet. The superstar is so committed to working out that she owns her own chain of gyms.
When WedMD spoke to Madonna’s trainer Gunnar Peterson, the fitness expert said that she deserves all of the attention she gets because of her incredible dedication to exercise, nutrition and adequate sleep. The secret to her success is doing strength training at the speed of a cardio workout. This not only builds muscle, it burns fat at a brutal – but rewarding – pace.
While it might seem impossible to have the toned arms of Madonna, the important thing to remember is to prioritize your health and find a happy balance so your health goals can be achieved.
